Hello and welcome to Day 2 of Villa Rosa Designs Fast and More Fun Blog Hop 2024!

The lineup for this year’s blog hop is sew super! (See the 2024 VRD Blog Hop Schedule at the end of this post.) AND there are lots of chances to win great prizes. As both a participant and sponsor of the blog hop, we were asked to choose from five curated designs to make and write about for the hop. One of the many fun parts of this blog hop is seeing these patterns made by a variety of quilters. If you follow along, you will very well see these designs in different colors and fabrics that may just spark your creativity.

Here are the 5 patterns in the 2024 Fast & Fun Blog Hop Collection:

Gypsy

A treat for the eyes, Gypsy is created with “Fairy Enchantment” fabrics from Benartex. The beauty of this design is that it really allows you to show off your favorite prints.

If you are having trouble finding color stories in your prints, we suggest using a color tool like the Palette-Builder Color Tool from Joen Wolfrom. This tool comes with four mini wheels, and each color wheel features 5 color plans for handy reference and easy access. As you identify the dominant colors in each printed fabric, see how you can use other prints to create a dynamic color palette.

Twinkle

If you love charm packs, and a chance to practice (or use up) those half-square triangle scraps, Twinkle is the pattern for you! The one pictured below is made with Benartex’s “Documentaries” fabric. See how the negative space allows the colors to really pop!

The big question is: how do you choose the right colors?
